A short loop hike through a cedar forest to Avalanche Gorge that is wheelchair accessible as well
This is a short hike through the woods over wooden boardwalks and bridges that are handicapped accessible for wheelchairs or the elderly. There are many informative and interpretive signs along the path to guide you and explain the flora and fauna of the area. This is a wonderful hike to take children on.
One of the best trails in the entire park, and a shuttle will even bring you back to your car at Logan Pass
This is one of the park's most beautiful hikes. It can be done in an afternoon after parking your car at Logan Pass then taking the traverse of the glacially carved valley down to the lower parking lot on Going to the Sun road. Look up the shuttle schedule and pace yourself so that you can catch a ride with the free shuttle back up to your car at...
A beautiful hike to a glacial lake beneath a massive melting glacier.
This is one of the most beautiful hikes in the entire National Park. The wonderfully maintained park trail will take you past beautiful lakes onto steep hillsides with sweeping views of waterfalls and glaciers all around you. You will probably see a lot of wildlife on the trip as well so be ready with your camera. When you get to Grinnell Lake you...

Awesome hike in some absolutely gorgeous country. My father and I started off with a boat rides from the Many Glacier Hotel across Swiftcurrent Lake. There is a fifth of a mile long paved trail connecting Swiftcurrent Lake from Lake Josephine. Once departing Morning Eagle, the fun old boat serving Lake Josephine, the trail heads to the North for a short ways before heading West and steadily ascending towards Upper Grinnell Lake.The...

Nice little walk for the whole family. Great scenery and not too long for young boys.
Aug 8-10, 2008(3 days 2 nights)
This hike was actually 15 miles. Not sure why GPS recorded 19.
I had the day off from work, so I decided to go hike the Avalanche Lake trail. The trail had a great number of visitors on it for it being a Wednesday. The trail is about 2 miles to the lake, and another mile to the far, less visited side.
Nice little hike behind the Logan Pass Visitors Center. Don't be fooled, this boardwalk hike has a slight incline to it and will have you huffing and puffing if you are from the east coast like I am. The reward is the overlook view of Hidden Lake. You can continue to the lake but this path stops just beyond the overlook area.
If you want to see distant views of mountains and valleys while walking through an alpine forest, this is the hike for you. A total of 11.8 miles form Logan Pass to the Granite Park Chalet and down to The Loop.
This trail starts at Logan's Pass Visitors Center and travels along the ridge above the going to the sun road for some great views along the way until you reach Granite Park Chalet where you decend rapidly down the mountian to the going to the sun road on the loop trail. There is a shuttle stop/parking at either end of the hike.
From Logan Pass vistor center we hiked a short distance along the Hidden Lake trail. The trail was 100% percent snow covered and we did not have the right shoes so we got tired very quickly. Even thought there was snow all around the tempurate was very nice. At this elevation, the minimal vertical feet took it's toll quickly on us, so we turned back about half way to the lake overview....
