Run by GUTS (Georgia Ultrarunning and Trailrunning Society), this race features an awesome, but tough course with stunning views and plenty of scenery. As long as I've lived nearby, I had never been to the top of Springer Mountain. It's a short hike, after a 10 mile Forest Service road, but was a nice trail, it was fun hiking the first segment of the AT.The little stub off the trail heads over to a camping area with many tent sites, and one small shelter.
