The fourth hike for me, sixth overall for group training for Philmont in August.
Alisa / Ramses / Monte / Tim Photos: Alisa Found this hike in the 60 Hikes within 60 Miles of DFW. This was a last minute hike. We slept in a little bit, so we tried to rush out to beat the heat. We didn't exactly win. It got to be very warm on the trail on our way back. Lot's of trees, sand, and the beach was littered. The beach the book points you...

Hiking | 15.2 miles (5.6 miles away)
This trail connects Lake Lewisville to Lake Ray Roberts. An ultralight test hike. Monte made the journey with me...poor dog.Took enough gear/food/fuel for an overnighter. If I recall correctly everything I carried and wore weighed less than 13 lbs. The first half is very scenic and shady. Also, interesting historical point about 3/4's of the way through on the east side of the trail - an old old bridge that supposedly Bonnie & Clyde...

Hiking | 2.2 miles (10.3 miles away)

The actual trail...
Nice Trail once you get past the first mile. This trail continues further, but I didn't have the time to follow it all the way out. When I get a chance I will post the full trail.
