I call this the Crane School trail because Crane School is close by. It looks like the Montecito Trail Association has added onto this trail and not it is .9 miles one way. It follows along the creek and ends just before The Valley Club Golf Club. Mostly flat & shaded and meanders under a lovely Live Oak canopy. Beautiful day.

The hike began at our campsite at Carpinteria State Beach. We followed the trails south bound through Tar Pits Park, which has natural tar seeping out of the ground in several areas. We had to find out if there really was a logbook at the top of Montecito Peak, after 1 hour and 47 minutes we made it up there and found the box! It was really cool reading everyone's hiking stories and adding our names to the list of logbook entries!
