Cliffs on the beach of the bay

Great cliffs that have been molded right on the beach of the bay! This hike is listed as moderate only for the length of the hike, and for the bugs that will be present in summertime. Calvert Cliffs State Park is an extremely popular family-friendly park in Southern Maryland.  There is a large playground, picnic tables, pavilions, and lots of parking (though it fills up quickly on nice days).  This park features a 2 mile trail to the beach where many fossils, sharks teeth, fossilized wood, and shells can be found and kept.  Megalodon (prehistoric shark) teeth have been known to be found along the beach as well.The...

First time visiting Calvert Cliffs. Gorgeous and easy hike (even for a five year old!). Time spent at the beach looking for sharks teeth, but no luck. Hiked back the two miles in pouring rain...what fun!

Andy and Dad drove to Calvert Cliffs state park on Saturday. We hiked the red trail down to the beach. Spent about an hour combing the beach for sharks teeth. Andy finally found one. Although I don't know how it was so tiny me with my old eyes could hardly see it. It started getting crowded so we hiked back to the car. We tried to get to another area but it...
