Great 1.5 - 2 hour hike, I give it a moderate rating (has plenty of hills).
Buckeye Trail to South Tow Path Loop

Peninsula, Ohio, United States
Hiking | 7.2 miles (11.0 miles away)
Hiking | 7.2 miles (11.0 miles away)
Great workout with steep grades, creek crossing, and some rough terrain. I would have given it a higher rating if it weren't for the fact that you have to walk through Peninsula. First half of the trail is great though.
Good moderate trail with plenty of good scenery. I would have given it 5 stars but a good part of it is located near the road. Granted, the traffic is not heavy but even the occasional car passing by, in some ways, ruins the hike.
This was a nice short hike with my son. We spent most of our time exploring the rock formations.
Pine Lane to North Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath

Boston, Ohio, United States
Hiking | 8.1 miles (11.0 miles away)
Hiking | 8.1 miles (11.0 miles away)
I rate it moderate to difficult due to the steep grades and the makeshift bridges that must be crossed.
This trail was not very picturesque but was a great workout. The slushy conditions made it extremely difficult to hike. This is probably a great trail to hike in the summer or in the snow with snowshoes but definitely not in 50 degree weather when the snow is melting. In these conditions I would rate it as “difficult” but otherwise I’d give it a “low moderate.”
This is a fantastic, challenging trail. However, I came at the wrong time of the year to truly enjoy it...I spent way too much time getting through or around water-logged trails...and it did rain that day too, which didn't help. This is definitely a rustic, natural, ungroomed trail...lots of true water hazards on the trail, and the make-shift bridges can be dangerous (fell once, and thankfully didn't break or twist anything).Once I...

Cuyahoga Valley NP – Ledges Trailhead; meandering through several loops.
Sunday, May 26, 2013
For our second excursion of 2013 to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, we decided to go to The Ledges trailhead and take a walk. After studying the map, Lynn figured we could cover The Ledges and several of the adjacent shorter loops today. Works for me.
So we left the house just after 9:00 AM and were at the trailhead...
Took the day off. 70 degrees on Nov. 6. Hell yeah!

Cuyahoga Valley NP - Boston Store Visitor Center to Brandywine Falls; now that’s
a nice hike.
Sunday, April 07, 2013 - MsHick and I spend a lot of time in
National Parks, but very little in the one right in our backyard, Cuyahoga
Valley. The last time we did any serious
outdoor activity in CVNP was back in 2004 when we rented bikes and rode along the
tow path for a few hours. As I recall we
rode from...
